Since the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 came into force, MfE has overseen the Fast-track referral process.
From 1 July 2026, this work continues under MCERT. This includes assessing project applications for eligibility, reporting on Treaty settlement obligations, and advising Ministers.
MfE contact details such as email addresses will still work for a period, before fully switching over to MCERT. Updates will be provided ahead of this transition.
The Fast-track process remains otherwise unchanged.
