Who uses the application portal?
The portal is a secure online platform used by all participants in the Fast-track process – applicants, panel members and conveners, administering agencies and local authorities, Ministers, and other parties invited to comment or provide technical reports.
Depending on the type of access you’ve been granted, the portal enables you to:
create, submit and view applications (including tracking the progress of a substantive application throughout its review and approval process)
request feedback or reports on substantive applications from relevant parties
receive notice of requests, administration tasks and correspondence
respond to requests and provide feedback and comments
upload, download and manage documents
check correspondence on an application.
You’ll only be able to access applications that you have created, or that have been assigned to you by the Fast-track team.
Getting access to the portal
The Fast-track team will provide you with access to the application portal based on your role in the Fast-track process. For applicants, this happens during the pre-application process. For other users, this happens the first time you are assigned to an application.
You will be invited by email to register for the portal using a unique invitation code link. To complete the process you will also need:
the email address used to invite you to the portal
a unique password 12 to 64 characters long that includes at least 3 of the following types of character: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols (like @, # or %)
an authentication app (Microsoft or Google) on your phone to generate verification codes – an additional authentication step required each time you sign in to the portal. You can download these apps from the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android phone).
If you want to use a different email address, you’ll need to contact us so that we can update your contact details and send you a replacement invitation code link.

Creating an application in the portal
Referral and substantive applications must be submitted using the relevant digital form provided in the Fast-track application portal in accordance with section 13(2) and (5) (referral applications) and section 43(1)(a) and (4) (substantive applications) of the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024.
Applicants can securely submit an application, track progress, receive notices and provide responses through the portal. You can save draft versions of an application, and edit or update it, until such time as you formally select ‘Submit’ in the portal.
If you become aware of an issue with your application after submitting it in the portal, for example you’ve omitted a document in error, please contact the Fast-track team immediately.

Interacting with applications in the portal
Central and local government agencies involved in Fast-track use the application portal to review and provide feedback on relevant applications.
The Fast-track team will give your agency’s nominated users access to the portal the first time you have an application to review, and they will notify you whenever there is a new application to review. This notification will include the applicationnumber, the application phase (activity) you are reviewing, and the relevant application details.
