Project summary

The project involves includes ancillary activities and infrastructure, including:

  • helicopter movements

  • parking, access and manoeuvring areas

  • earthworks and civil works (for building platforms, roading, landscaping, services and infrastructure)

  • vegetation removal and modification

  • temporary construction activities including sediment control measures

  • wastewater treatment and disposal.

The project will require the proposed approvals under the fast-track approvals process:

  • resource consents under the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA)

  • wildlife permits under the Wildlife Act 1953

  • archaeological authority under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014.

Project location

The project is located across 15 Arabella Lane and 52 Kauri Drive, Snells Beach, Auckland Region, with a combined area of approximately 62.5 hectares.

The Minister for Infrastructure referred the project to the Fast-track on 30 July 2026 The application was lodged on 8 May 2026.
