Project summary
The project is to undertake an infrastructure development upgrade of the transport corridor between the Redoubt Road interchange on State Highway 1 in Manukau to the Phillip Road intersection with Mill Road in Takanini, Auckland.
The project includes and upgrade of Mill Road to four lanes and local road connections, a bus lane and a new shared path active mode facility.
The project will require the proposed approvals: a) resource consents and designations (including alterations to existing designations) approval under the Resource Management Act 1991, b) approval under the Wildlife Act 1953, c) approval under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014, and d) approval under the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983.
Project location
Mill Road (linear) corridor – between the Redoubt Road interchange on SH1 in Manukau to the Phillip Road intersection with Mill Road in Takanini, Auckland.
Project referral
The Minister for Infrastructure referred the project to the Fast-track on 14 November 2025. The application was lodged on 15 July 2025.
