Project summary

This project involves:

  • approximately 1,100 residential units, including a mix of three storey walk-up apartments and apartment buildings of five to seven storeys

  • community facilities, including community rooms, open spaces and parks and onsite car parking

  • a development lot intended to accommodate local commercial and retail activities

  • new internal roads on the site

  • the construction of an intersection with traffic signals and a bus lane on State Highway 6

  • new and upgraded three waters infrastructure, including stormwater management, water supply, and wastewater services, both internal and external to the site

  • fee simple subdivision to create development lots, roads, and a park to vest in Council

  • unit title subdivision of the walk up and apartment buildings

  • associated bulk earthworks to facilitate the development.

Project location

The project site is approximately 10 ha at 12 Lower Shotover Road, Frankton, in the Queenstown Lakes District. It includes adjacent or nearby land and road reserves required to enable associated transport and three waters infrastructure.

Project referral

The Minister for Infrastructure referred the project to the Fast-track on 31 May 2026. The application was lodged on 10 April 2026.
