Project summary

The project is a staged mixed-use land and subdivision and development, comprising:

• an agricultural education facility with associated student accommodation
• a retirement village (approximately 125 villas and 30 integrated-care suites) and supporting facilities
• approximately 36 rural residential lots (from approximately 2,500 to 3,500 m2 each)
• a local commercial centre, including amenities, services, and farming and equipment hire 
• storage units
• open space, roading, and three waters infrastructure 
• ecological enhancement to the natural environment.

Project location

The project is located on approximately 55.27 hectares at 1073, 1171 and 1185 Tauwhare Road, Tauwhare, Waikato District.

Project referral

The Minister for Infrastructure referred the project to the Fast-track on 21 October 2026. The application was lodged on 23 June 2026.
