Continue to use, operate, and maintain the power scheme comprising Tekapo A Power Station and substation, Tekapo B Power Station and substation, and the canal system, and connect and supply electricity to the national grid.
Between Lake Tekapo (higher elevation), to the northeast near Tekapo, and Lake Pukaki (lower elevation) to the southwest near Twizel.
The substantive application by Genesis Energy Limited was deemed complete on 7 May 2025. The application complies with the requirements of section 46 (2) of the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024. The application was lodged on 11 April 2025.
The substantive application by Genesis Energy Limited was deemed to not have any competing applications or existing resource consents on 21 May 2025. This decision is required under section 47 of the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024.
